I’m pleased to unveil the new class schedule for June and July. (That’s all the time I have to teach before the Ande Marimba Band tour). There are a few new offerings, including Hosho Basics and Basics of Shona Music, and continuing classes like Beginning & Intermediate Marimba.
Hosho Basics is pretty self-explanatory…as long as you know that hosho are the gourd rattles played with Zimbabwean music. Basics of Shona Music picks up where Fundamentals of African Rhythm left off — it’s designed to train your ears, voice, hands, feet, body, and mind to experience Shona music to the fullest!
